In 1993 it was auctioned by Sotheby and sold for $11,002,500. The sophisticated watch features 900 components and has 24 functions.
The most complicated watch in the world is the Caliber 89, a handcrafted mechanical time piece which has over 1700 components and 36 interesting functions. Caliber 89 is actually a series of four watches that were created in order to honor the 150 anniversary of the renown Patek Philippe company.
