The first portable watches were worn around the neck or attached to the clothes. Furthermore the first wristwatches were worn solely by women. The wristwatch history changed during the World War I when men discovered the actual utility of this portable time instruments. Nowadays very few people still wear wristwatches but this fact will surely change in the future.
