The Cord automobile was one of the most innovative and original cars build in its time. Cord was the brand name of the vehicle built by Auburn Automobile Company between 1929 and 1932 and 1938 and 1937. Because of a series of unfortunate events, the incredible Cord never made a profit and the company filed for bankruptcy in December 1937, with only 3,000 cars produced.
Packard Automobile was a luxury brand produced by Packard Motor Car Company from Detroit and later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation. The first models were produced in 1899 and the last Packard in the late 50s. In attempt to keep the brand alive for the car-buying public, the company built 7 dream cars during the 50s. The Predictor was the last concept car designed by Ghia of Turin in 1957 under Packard design chief Bill Schmidt.
Industrial design is more important than we realize in each of our lives, because thanks to it we can enjoy products which are aesthetically pleasant, ergonomic, feasible, easy to use, functional and so on; it makes a product be more than that, it makes it an extension of our lives.
If you need to achieve a creative design and lack the inspiration, try limiting your options and use of tools, even colors; limitations can actually help you be more creative, albeit in a more specific way, but you can even get to create something totally unique.
